CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES

This spring, NYU-SCPS’s continuing education program in Publishing offers an even wider array of new Saturday intensives allowing more flexibility and a hands-on, how-to approach with courses such as Publishing the Graphic Novel and Getting It Right: Research and Fact Checking for Books and Magazines.  In addition, our program fully incorporates digital publishing strategies and technologies in a number of our courses such as Crossing the Digital Divide: What Print Professionals Need to Know and Everything You Need to Know about Digital Publishing in the Book Industry: An Introduction for the Non-Techie. Our program will help students get that job or jump-start a career, either as a freelancer or within the publishing industry.

We offer more than 40 courses specifically designed to help you move forward in the rapidly-evolving publishing industry. Whether you’re interested in an introduction to publishing, book or magazine editing, copyediting, proofreading or much more, we have a course designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need. Our faculty of publishing experts, who work in all sectors of the book and magazine industries, bring their professional experiences and knowledge of the latest practices to the classroom. We also offer two professional certificate programs that expand your skills and add a powerful credential to your résumé.
