As part of a lively community of student scholars, you will find that networking begins with first-day introductions in the classroom. NETWORKING AND PROFESSIONAL EVENTS
Networking opportunities are an important part of the graduate program, and we maintain strong industry connections that serve your career goals well. The Human Resource Management program houses the only NYU chartered chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest association devoted to human resource management. We also offer you the opportunity to become a member of SHRM at a greatly discounted fee.

Individual consultations with advisors, discussions about job opportunities and trends, and access to alumni in strategic positions are integral to the program. In addition, we offer coaching and mentoring for graduate students. Various annual alumni events, centered on key topics and presented by industry executives, provide opportunities for you to meet graduates, develop insight into other aspects of the industry, and cultivate a positive network of colleagues in different sectors of human relations and development. We also offer a biannual speaker series featuring leaders in the field.

SCPS OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
The SCPS Office of Student Affairs offers a wide variety of programs and services designed to help our diverse student population make the most of their NYU experience and grow within a community of scholars and fellow professionals. The Office of Student Affairs can provide you with information about academic resources, ways to get involved in student life on campus, and how to obtain assistance and support. From University and SCPS services to academic policies and protocols, there is a wealth of information with which to become familiar.

NYU UNIVERSITY-WIDE STUDENT CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
In addition to the broad range of industry professionals and guest speakers you meet in the classroom, you are able to choose any of NYU’s 350 clubs and associations as your primary venues for student involvement, career networking, and meeting classmates with similar goals, interests, and hobbies. Even as a part-time graduate student, you are encouraged to participate in student governance, graduate student organizations, and special-interest clubs. As an active graduate student, you are invited to an extraordinary array of events and opportunities to expand yourself both intellectually and professionally. You may participate in school-wide or program-specific forums, seminars, and conferences offered by the School, as well as by other NYU schools and colleges and their affiliated professional associations. These types of activities add greatly to your student experience and enhance your networking opportunities.
